Oscar award-winning composer AR Rahman performed at a concert titled 'Marakuma Nenjam' at Adityaram Palace in Chennai's Paniyur on September 10. Nearly 50,000 people attended the concert. However, many took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam Rahman and the organisers (ACTC Events) for poor crowd management. Many women claimed that they were violated in the stampede, children were displaced and people with valid tickets couldn't enter the venue due to overcrowding.

AR RAHMAN'S CONCERT CRITICISED FOR POOR MANAGEMENT

AR Rahman's 'Marakuma Nenjam' concert was initially scheduled to take place on August 12. However, it was cancelled due to excessive rain.

The concert was rescheduled to take place on September 10 and was attended by thousands of people. ACTC Events, organisers of the concert, were slammed for overselling the tickets. Many claimed that women were molested in the stampede and parents lost their children in the crowd.

Others blamed Rahman and the organisers for poor crowd management. Several people couldn't enter the venue despite having valid tickets. Adityaram's head, who addressed the crowd towards the end of the concert, asked the event managers to organise the concert properly next time.
