TV host Jimmy Fallon reacts after reports of creating toxic environment surfaces

The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon has reportedly apologised to his staff members over a Zoom call after reports against him for creating a toxic environment surfaced on the internet. The said expose was done by Rolling Stone.

As per Variety, Fallon has expressed how sorry he is that his staff had to suffer.

“It’s embarrassing, and I feel so bad. Sorry if I embarrassed you and your family and friends. I feel so bad I can’t even tell you. I want this show to be fun, it should be inclusive for everybody, it should be funny, it should be the best show, the best people,” Jimmy Fallon is reported to have said.

The Rolling Stone expose spoke to multiple people who work and used to work for The Tonight Show and Fallon, and they claimed that the work harassment situation persisted despite complaints to the HR department.

“It’s a bummer because it was my dream job. Writing for late night is a lot of people’s dream jobs, and they’re coming into this and it becomes a nightmare very quickly. It’s sad that it’s like that, especially knowing that it doesn’t have to be that way,” said one person in the report.

NETWORK TV NBC REACTS TO THE ALLEGATIONS

Meanwhile, the network TV NBC also addressed the situation: “As in any workplace, we have had employees raise issues; those have been investigated and action has been taken where appropriate. As is always the case, we encourage employees who feel they have experienced or observed behaviour inconsistent with our policies to report their concerns so that we may address them accordingly.”

Complaints in a similar vein had come up against popular TV show host Ellen Degeneres before the show was finally taken off air.
