Left will fight Congress in Kerala: Sitaram Yechury at INDIA bloc's Mumbai meet

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, speaking at an opposition meeting on Friday, emphasized that the growing strength of the opposition alliance is making the government anxious. Meanwhile, Rajdeep Sardesai spoke to Sitharam Yechury, who said that by evening, all the major decisions shall be taken. "The Left and the Congress will fight each other in Kerala, that's obvious. In most states, there already are alliances in place," he said. The opposition bloc INDIA announced a central coordination committee consisting of 13 members from its constituent parties on its third day of the meeting. The alliance also passed a resolution to jointly contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and said that seat-sharing talks between the member parties will begin "immediately".

INDIA bloc to begin seat-sharing talks soon, announces coordination panel

Opposition bloc INDIA on Friday announced a central coordination committee consisting of 13 members from its constituent parties, during its third meeting in Mumbai. The alliance also said that seat-sharing talks between the member parties will begin "immediately", even as it  passed a resolution to jointly contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and The 13-member coordination panel on the INDIA bloc includes Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, RJD leader and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, AAP MP Raghav Chadha, Javed Khan from Samajwadi Party, Janata Dal United national president Lalan Singh, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, CPI leader D Raja, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti.

'One Nation One Election' is the need of the hour: UP's Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that 'One Nation, One Election' is the need of the hour. "For a rich democracy, political stability is really important and in a democratic set-up, with the stability of government, speedy governance is needed for development. With this point of view, 'one nation, one election' is a commendable attempt." Yogi's statement came after the central government on Friday formed a committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind to explore the possibility of 'One Nation One Election' that aims for holding of general and state elections simultaneously.
