Tata Punch ahead of Hyundai Exter in August also! Check volume here
Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter are the two most prominent offerings in the entry-level SUV segment.
The Tata Punch has again beaten the recently-launched Hyundai Exter so far as volume is concerned. The wholesale despatches of the Tata Punch were almost double than that of the Hyundai Exter in August.
The popular Punch registered a handsome volume of 14,523 units in August. In comparison, the Exter could garner volume of only 7,430 units during the month.
The wholesale despatches of the Punch were better than that of the Exter in July as well. During the month, the Punch was at 12,019 units as against 7,000 units of the Exter.
The Punch and the Exter are the two most prominent offerings in the entry-level SUV segment. Other models like the Kiger and the Magnite have had a relatively underwhelming performance.
Both Punch and Exter are similarly priced. While the Punch is priced between Rs 5,99,900 and Rs 10,09,900 (ex-showroom), the Exter sits in the price range of Rs 5,99,999 to Rs 10,09,990 (ex-showroom).
The Punch is equipped with a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, which generates 88PS and 115Nm. It offers a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT as transmission options. A CNG variant is also available, producing 73PS and 103Nm, but only with a 5-speed MT. The fuel efficiency is claimed to be 20.09kmpl for the petrol MT, 18.8kmpl for the petrol AMT, and 26.99km/kg for the CNG MT.
On the other hand, the Exter runs on a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine, delivering 83PS and 113.8Nm. It can be paired with a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT. A CNG version is also offered, putting out 69PS and 95.2Nm, but it comes solely with a 5-speed MT. The mileage is reported to be 19.4kmpl for the petrol MT, 19.2kmpl for the petrol AMT, and 27.1km/kg for the CNG MT.
