Sujoy Ghosh's upcoming thriller film 'Jaane Jaan' will premiere on Netflix on September 21. Recently, it was revealed that Saif Ali Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were supposed to be a part of the film.

Kareena Kapoor is going to make her OTT debut with the Netflix film 'Jaane Jaan'. This also marks her first collaboration with the director Sujoy Ghosh. He revealed that her husband, Saif Ali Khan, was supposed to star in this murder-mystery.
'Jaane Jaan' is the Indian adaptation of Keigo Higashino's Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X. It was also said that the film was first announced in 2015 with Aishwarya Bachchan but it was later shelved.
KAREENA KAPOOR SAYS SHE WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A PART OF 'JAANE JAAN'
The trailer of 'Jaane Jaan' was finally unveiled on September 5. It takes its viewers inside the world of darkness, secrets and the complexities of a relationship. Speaking at the trailer launch in Mumbai, Kareena said that she was not even a part of the film initially. However, her husband-actor Saif Ali Khan is excited for the film's release.
Saif Ali Khan and Aishwarya Rai were original choices for the film. During one of her earlier interviews with Bollywood Hungama, Aishwarya had said, "I’ve agreed to do Sujoy’s Durga Rani and the screen adaptation of Keigo Huganshino’s Japanese novel The Devotion Of Suspect X. I don’t know which one he will start first.”
Later Durga Rani was made as 'Kahaani 2' which starred Vidya Balan in the lead.

SUJOY GHOSH ON SAIF'S INVOLVEMENT IN THE FILM
While speaking about Saif Ali Khan, director Sujoy Ghosh mentioned that the actor has a history with the film. He said, "We (Saif and Sujoy) were supposed to do the film but we couldn’t make it and I believe that every film has its own destiny and now it has happened with Kareena, so for me it has come a full circle.”
ABOUT 'JAANE JAAN'
'Jaane Jaan' also stars Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat in lead roles. The film marks the first collaboration between the three exceptional actors. It will release on Kareena Kapoor's birthday on September 21.
Meanwhile, Kareena was last seen in 'Laal Singh Chaddha' alongside Aamir Khan. It was the Indian adaption of 'Forrest Gump'.
