Nvidia will provide cutting-edge technology, including the NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip and the NVIDIA DGX Cloud, an AI supercomputing service hosted in the cloud. The GH200 chip represents a groundbreaking advancement in computing architecture, offering unmatched performance and extensive memory bandwidth.

“The Nvidia-powered AI infrastructure is the foundation of the new frontier into AI for Reliance Jio Infocomm, Reliance Industries’ telecom arm. The global AI revolution is transforming industries and daily life. To serve India’s vast potential in AI, Reliance will create AI applications and services for their 450 million Jio customers and provide energy-efficient AI infrastructure to scientists, developers and startups across India,” said Nvidia.

This AI infrastructure will be hosted in AI-ready data centers, with plans for expansion to 2,000 MW. The execution and implementation of this endeavor will be overseen by Jio, leveraging its extensive expertise in mobile telephony, 5G technology, fiber networks, and other domains.

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, expressed enthusiasm for this collaboration, emphasizing India's scale, data resources, and talent as key factors in developing AI computing infrastructure that can empower India with large language models for generative AI applications. “We are delighted to partner with Reliance to build state-of-the-art AI supercomputers in India,” said he added.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, underscored the transformative potential of this partnership, comparing it to the significant impact Jio has had on India's digital landscape. “As India advances from a country of data proliferation to creating technology infrastructure for widespread and accelerated growth, computing and technology super centres like the one we envisage with NVIDIA will provide the catalytic growth just like Jio did to our nation’s digital march,” he added.

Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, emphasized their commitment to democratizing access to advanced technologies. He sees this partnership as a pivotal step toward accelerating India's ascent to AI prominence, envisioning the development of a cutting-edge AI cloud infrastructure that is secure, sustainable, and highly relevant to India's unique opportunities.
