When asked about changing the name from 'G20' to 'G21' after the inclusion of African Union (AU) to G20, Chief Coordinator Harsh Vardhan Shringla said that this a 'decision for another day.' The African Union became a permanent member of the G20 on Saturday, following a proposal put forth by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that was welcomed by all member countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday evening arrived at the media centre in Bharat Mandapam, the venue of the G20 Summit. After holding a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders following the conclusion of the summit, PM Modi came to the media centre and greeted those present there. Launching the corridor, PM Modi said that it will give a new direction to connectivity and sustainable development. "In times to come, the corridor will become an effective medium for economic integration of India, the Middle East and Europe," he said.

He said, India will be the first in world to produce biofuel and that it can lead the world on biofuel. PM Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the Global Biofuels Alliance to boost the use of cleaner fuels. India has been pushing the idea of setting up a Global Biofuels Alliance to help accelerate energy transition. The alliance, with the United States and Brazil as its founding members, is somewhat like the International Solar Alliance (ISA) piloted by New Delhi and Paris in 2015 to bring clean and affordable solar energy within the reach of all. 

African Union Chairperson Azali Assoumani  thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India for playing an important role in accepting the African Union's membership in the G20 Summit. Assoumani, who arrived in Delhi on Friday to attend the G20 Summit, said, "I'd like to thank him (PM Modi) for accepting our membership. If the African Union becomes a full member of the G20, it would be because of India’s role. This is an honour for us."
