MG Astor Blackstorm limited edition launched at starting price of Rs 14.48 lakh

MG Motor India today announced the launch of the MG Astor Blackstorm at a starting price of Rs 14.48 lakh (ex-showroom). The new limited edition model has been introduced by the carmaker to target the upcoming festive season.

The MG Astor initially entered the market in October 2021 in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. This space boasts formidable models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Volkswagen Taigun, among others.

The performance of the MG Astor has been underwhelming even though it is one of the most feature-loaded vehicles in the segment.

The MG Astor Blackstorm boasts a 1.5-litre VTi-TECH petrol engine (110PS and 144Nm) with 5-speed MT and CVT options. However, the limited edition model misses out on the 1.4-litre 220TURBO petrol engine (140PS and 220Nm), which is available with the standard MG Astor, and comes mated to a 6-speed AT.

• Blackstorm MT - Rs 14.48 lakh
• Blackstorm CVT - Rs 15.77 lakh

The MG Astor Blackstorm gets black-themed exteriors and interiors with features like a blacked-out honeycomb grille, alloy wheels with red front brake callipers, black-finished headlamps, black-finish roof rails, glossy black door garnish and a panoramic sunroof. There is a 'BLACKSTORM' emblem on the front fender on each side.

The cabin boasts a Tuxedo black upholstery with red stitching, Sangria red-themed AC vents, an all-black floor console, and steering wheel and doors with red stitches. The Astor Blackstorm also gets JBL speakers, which the buyers can get fitted at all authorised MG dealerships across India.
