'Jawan': SRK's film takes global box office by storm, shatters records overseas

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' has taken a flying start at the box office. His movie is being lauded by fans as well as celebrities. The unanimous response to 'Jawan' is positive and the audience has given it a green signal. For the unversed, the Atlee film minted Rs 75 crore in India on its opening day. Now, the overseas box office collections of the movie are out.

The global box office figures of 'Jawan' have been released by Comscore. Considering the day 1 collection, SRK's film is the top movie in Australia and New Zealand.

Australia: Debuts at No. 1 spot. A$ 398,030 [Rs 2.11 cr]

NZ: Debuts at No. 1 spot. NZ$ 79,805 [Rs 39.13 lacs]

Germany: Debuts at No. 3 spot. Euro 146,014 [Rs 1.30 cr]

'JAWAN' MOVIE REVIEW

India Today's Entertainment Editor, Tushar Joshi, gave 3.5 stars to 'Jawan'. A part of his review of 'Jawan' read, "Jawan is a message driven film. The story of an army officer who has been wronged and his son who later picks up the pieces of what his father set out to do is super-high on emotional drama and theatrics. Shah Rukh’s double role as the father and son was a smooth move and that is perhaps Atlee’s only ace of spade in a screenplay that is deeply interspersed with potholes and flaws. A special shout-out to Nayanthara, who acts as the perfect support to SRK in the film."

WHAT'S NEXT FOR SHAH RUKH KHAN?

On the work front, SRK will soon gear up for the release of 'Dunki'. The film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and it will see Taapsee Pannu as Shah Rukh's leading lady. The movie is expected to be released in December this year.
