Jasprit Bumrah was filled with joy by the gesture as he called it 'very sweet'. The video of the heartwarming exchange between two of the world's finest pacers was shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board on social media platform X.

The Super Fours match was pushed into the Reserve Day after heavy rain in Colombo on Sunday. The rain arrived when India were 147 for 2 after 24.1 overs and continued to pour for more than an hour. Despite rain stopping, the wet patches on the field made it impossible for the teams to resume the match on Sunday. The on-field umpires raised concerns about the wet patches even as the Sri Lankan groundstaff tried their best to dry them.

The Super Fours match will resume on Monday, September 11 at 3 pm IST.

Jasprit Bumrah recently welcomed a new addition to his family. On September 4th, 2023, he and his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, celebrated the birth of their first child, a son. Bumrah took a paternity leave from the Asia Cup, missing India's Group A match against Nepal but he returned to join the team ahead of the Super Fours stage in Colombo.

The cricketing world was informed of Bumrah's absence from the Asia Cup group matches through Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar. It was clarified that his absence was not due to any recurring injury but was instead a conscious choice to prioritize his family during this crucial time. This decision was met with respect and understanding, highlighting the importance of work-life balance even in high-pressure professions like international cricket.

Sanjana Ganesan, Bumrah's wife, is a former Miss India finalist and a well-known model and presenter. The couple got married on March 15, 2021, in Goa, and their relationship has been in the public eye ever since.
