In focus: Indian ethnic fashion at G20 Dinner

Indian ethnic fashion was in spotlight at the gala G20 Dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 9.

Apart from President Murmu and PM Modi, several foreign dignitaries also flaunted Indian outfits at the event.

Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s wife Yuko Kishida exuded six yards of elegance in a traditional green saree. She also sported a bindi to complete her look.

Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni wore a black kurta set with a traditional mauve draped around her shoulder.

Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina wore an elegant lilac-hued saree with a pearl necklace to the event.

Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva looked graceful in a purple kurta set.

PM Modi, meanwhile, wore a white kurta and churidaar set with a striped V-neckline jacket.

President Droupadi Murmu flaunted her love for sarees in a beige-hued drape with contrasting turquoise border.

Akshata Murty's outfit for G20 Dinner also had an Indian connect despite its Western silhouette. It hailed from the label of designer Saloni Lodha, a London-based designer of Indian origin.
