G20 Summit: Army stations medical teams at 4 government hospitals in Delhi

The Army has stationed its medical teams at four government hospitals - All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Safdarjung, Ram Manohar Lohia, and the Army Research and Referral Hospital - in Delhi.

Ahead of the G20 Summit, the Indian Army has stationed its four quick reaction medical teams (QRMTs) at four key government hospitals - All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Safdarjung, Ram Manohar Lohia, and the Army Research and Referral Hospital - in Delhi.

The team consists of doctors and paramedical staff who have been deployed in view of the diplomatic enclave, scheduled on September 9 and 10.

These QRMTs are not only fully equipped to handle medical emergencies but are also supported by specialist Corps of Engineers teams, ready to respond to any unforeseen situations.

According to Defence officials, the Army Research and Referral Hospital has been put on standby.

The G20 Summit is slated to be held at the newly built international convention and exhibition centre -- Bharat Mandapam -- at Pragati Maidan.

Over the next two days, the nation’s capital will play host to US President Joe Biden, Britain's Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, among others.

The event will focus on critical issues such as the economy, the environment, and sustainable development.
