G20: Biden to reach India tomorrow, UK's Rishi Sunak hails India's Presidency

With the G20 Summit all set to be held in Delhi, US President Joe Biden will land in India tomorrow, at around 7 pm. During his visit to the national capital, Biden will travel in 'The Beast', the US Presidential Cadillac, that will be flown to India from the US. Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said India's diversity and its extraordinary successes means it is the "right country" at the "right time" to hold the G20 presidency, as he hailed Narendra Modi's leadership over the last year. He also noted that India's presidency of the bloc came when the world is facing innumerable challenges.

As the controversy around statements on Sanatana Dharma made by DMK leaders Udhayanidhi Stalin and later A Raja continue to trigger reactions, Kerala-based social activist Rahul Easwar said that the comments made by these leaders are extremely offensive and call for strict action. Pralhad Joshi accuses Jairam Ramesh of twisting facts ahead of Parliament session

Union minister Pralhad Joshi on Thursday accused senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh of twisting facts about constitutional provisions and parliamentary procedures related to Parliament sessions. "It is crucial to stop the spread of misinformation that scandalises Parliament and its procedures," the parliamentary affairs minister said in a rejoinder to Ramesh. Jairam Ramesh had accused him of being "misleading" in his reply to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's letter to the prime minister. The Congress has been targeting the government for not disclosing the agenda of the five-day special session starting from September 18.
