INNOVATIVE INITIATIVES AND TECHNOLOGICAL INTEGRATION

Prominent hospitality educational institutions should employ proactive and engaging initiatives like industry seminars and career fairs to transform perceptions about the industry and attract more students to consider it a rewarding career path. Moreover, it is essential to acknowledge the significance of technology in the modern hospitality landscape.

"By bringing together technological giants and hospitality businesses, students and faculty can actively participate in the growth of technological advancements, meeting the changing requirements of the industry," Dez de la Lastra further adds.

Fostering strong partnerships with prominent players in the hospitality industry is critical. These collaborations should include internships, work-study programmes, and guest lecturers from renowned industry professionals to provide students with comprehensive hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of real-world challenges.

To enhance employability and prepare students for the future, institutions should prioritise skill-based training alongside theoretical knowledge. Enabling opportunities for hands-on experience in various departments, such as the front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and event management will help students develop practical skills.

CURRICULUM ADAPTATION FOR AN EVOLVING LANDSCAPE

To address the evolving requirements of the hospitality landscape, hospitality educational institutions should continually update their curriculum. Designing courses focused on technology, sustainability, cultural diversity, and other emerging opportunities within the hospitality sector will equip students with relevant knowledge and skills, making them more appealing to potential employers.

PROMOTING DIVERSITY AND INCLUSIVITY

To ensure a level playing field and promote diversity and inclusivity, institutions should offer scholarships and financial aid to meritorious students facing financial obstacles. This approach will ensure that students from diverse economic backgrounds have access to quality hospitality education and can become change agents of the future.

HONING SOFT SKILLS FOR HOSPITALITY DISTINCTION
