Delhi man beaten to death with bricks while trying to save his son in fight

A man was beaten to death with bricks by a group of boys when he tried to save his son in a fight in Delhi's Okhla on Friday.

A 38-year-old man died after being beaten by bricks by a group of boys in south-east Delhi's Okhla on Friday. The victim, Mohammad Hanif, was killed while trying to save his son in a fight with the group.

Hanif's two minor sons were also injured in the altercation.

The incident happened in Okhla Phase-2 where Hanif, who worked as a porter at a market, lived in the colony with his wife and four sons.

Around 11 pm on Friday, Hanif's 14-year-old son had gone to get his bike which was parked outside. He found four to five boys sitting on it. An argument broke out when Hanif's son asked the group to leave, leading to a brawl.

When Hanif intervened to save his son, he was attacked with bricks and severely injured.

The police arrived at the spot following a tip-off and rushed Hanif to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was declared brought dead.

The accused are currently on the run and the police have registered a case.
