CBSE refuses to extend deadline for Class 10, 12 board exams candidates’ list

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an official notification, urging schools to strictly comply with the List of Candidates (LOC) deadline. Additionally, the board has affirmed that no extensions will be granted to schools for submitting student details. The deadline for LOC submission without any late fees is set for September 18, 2023. Schools facing fines can submit the CBSE LOC form until September 19, 2023.

The CBSE has stressed the importance of caution among the staff responsible for uploading student details to prevent errors. Once the data is uploaded to the e-pariksha portal provided on the CBSE website at cbse.gov.in, no modifications will be permitted.

In a bid to prevent future issues, schools must furnish accurate and punctual student data. Candidates should be aware that once the information is submitted, it becomes immutable.

The board has made it clear that it will not entertain requests for subject adjustments, admissions in classes 10 and 12 (except in transfer cases), or concessions for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) once the LOC has been submitted.

Hence, schools must exercise additional care during data uploads, particularly in ensuring the correct spelling and accuracy of student, mother, or guardian names, which must align with the records in the school's admission and withdrawal register.

Meanwhile, CBSE has officially announced that the class 10 and class 12 board examinations for the academic year 2023-2024 will commence on February 15, 2024. The board has advised all organisations to schedule their exams in consideration of this board exam timeline.
