British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a 'historic G20 Summit' as he left for the UK after the two-day conference in Delhi.

On the last day of the G20 Summit, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a historic summit in a post on X (formerly Twitter) as he left for the UK. Sunak also thanked Indians for a "warm welcome" and said India and the UK were "stronger together, stronger united".

"Stronger together. Stronger united. Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a historic G20 and the Indian people for such a warm welcome," he wrote.

Speaking about the G20 Summit, he further said, "From global food security to international partnerships, it’s been a busy but successful summit."

Sharing a similar message on Instagram, he said, "This is what the G20 was created to do. International partners working together to tackle global issues. It was an honour to visit Akshardham temple and Raj Ghat this morning to pay my respects alongside other world leaders."

Sunak also shared a photo of him leaving India along with his wife Akshata Murty and several other photos from the summit and his visit to Akshardham temple as well.

On the first day of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Rishi Sunak on the sidelines of the summit and discussed ways to deepen trade linkages and boost investment.

Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty landed in Delhi on Friday to participate in the two-day G20 Summit that commenced on Saturday.

Their arrival was marked by a warm welcome from Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, who greeted them with a "Jai Siya Ram." As a token of hospitality, they were presented with Rudraksh beads, a copy of the Bhagavad Geeta, and a Hanuman Chalisa.
