‘We trust India's abilities with controversial issues’: German Ambassador on G20

Dr Philipp Ackerman, the German Ambassador to India, spoke exclusively to India Today’s Geeta Mohan ahead of the G20 Summit set to be held in New Delhi on September 9 and 10. Dr Ackermann congratulated India for its efforts during its G20 Presidency, even as he expressed concerns over the long ongoing Sherpa meeting. “We all know there are some controversies, some circumstances are difficult, but I trust India’s abilities.I want this summit to be successful from the bottom of my heart," he said. Commenting on the Russia-Ukraine war, Dr Philipp Ackerman said, “We have seen the impact of war on the world. It should not be left out of the list of issues being discussed.” He further noted that climate change is very high on Germany’s agenda, as well as India’s, emphasizing that he looks forward to productive outcomes from the Summit.

Abhishek Singh, the CEO of Digital India Corporation (DIC), installed a cycling stall at the Bharat Mandapam which will help demonstrate various milestones and projects of Digital India through cycling. Speaking about the project, he said that the approach was to make people aware of various Digital India initiatives, with a healthy way like cycling. The installation will allow the viewers to take a journey through Digital India initiatives on a screen, as they pedal on a stationary cycle. 

UK PM Rishi Sunak arrives in New Delhi for G20 Summit

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived in India to attend the G20 Summit on Friday. Sunak had told The Guardian that he is looking forward to a “special” trip to Delhi, where he believes he will be welcomed as “India’s son-in-law”. Bangladesh Prime Minister lands in New Delhi ahead for G20 Summit
