UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and First Lady Akshata Murty reached the Akshardham Temple in Delhi on Sunday morning to offer prayers. Akshata took the desi route with her outfit as she stepped out with her husband to visit the temple.

Akshata kept her look simple in a magenta-pink and green salwar suit. The kurta featured floral motifs all over the expanse. The green kurta came with a magenta-pink simple dupatta and palazzo (in the same colour).

The UK First Lady's hands were adorned with bangles and she completed her look with hoop earrings.

Rishi Sunak, on the other hand, was formally dressed for the outing. He wore a crisp white shirt with black pants.

The couple spent about an hour at the temple, sources said. Speaking about the visit, the director of the Akshardham temple, Jyotindra Dave, said Sunak went barefoot inside the temple -- a tradition followed by Hindus while visiting a temple. “After meeting him, we felt like he is very close to Sanatana,” the director said.

"He performed aarti at the temple, met the saints here, also offered flowers to all the idols in the temple. His wife also performed the puja,” the director told India Today.
